Rebates for flood-affected customers

This week's rain storms have caused flooding in our homes. Customers who have experienced flooding in their basements and around the perimeter of their home may need to replace damaged furnaces, boilers, water heaters and air conditioners.

In emergency situations like these, replacing necessary equipment is time and price sensitive to your customers. It is common for customers to make their purchase decision based on price and not necessarily equipment that is best suited for their home. This is especially true in many parts of northern Illinois where flooding is not typically covered by homeowners' insurance.

High-efficiency HVAC equipment is of great benefit to our customers; it saves energy, may save money on customers' bills and can bring improved home comfort. While you are out in the field over the next couple weeks, please remember to introduce high-efficiency equipment to your customers. While the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program offers many HVAC equipment rebates, those listed below are most applicable to this situation. Eligibility Requirements

Here is a list of items to remember when offering this limited-time CSR rebate increase to your customers:

The promotion is only available to customers who have purchased and installed program-qualifying equipment between February 1, 2013, and April 30, 2013. If a CSR was installed prior to February 1, 2013, it is NOT ELIGIBLE for the rebate levels listed above. However, it may still be eligible for a regular CSR rebate. Visit the Complete System Replacement information page to see what rebate amount your installation qualifies for.
The ComEd portion of the CSR rebate will return to $250 effective May 1, 2013; the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program portion will remain the same.
Applications are due by June 15, 2013, or within 90 days of installation - whichever comes first.
No promotional code is needed to qualify.
Contractors providing their customers Instant Discounts should apply the full rebate amount to the customer’s invoice. If the full eligible rebate amount is not discounted, the rebate application will be marked incomplete and you will need to provide verification that your customer has been reimbursed for the complete rebate amount.
